The movement against corporate globalization has turned its eye to the struggles against gentrification in San Francisco. Sleeping Giant Productions and Whispered Media documented the protests against the WTO in Seattle and the World Bank and IMF in Washington, DC, and they are documenting the ongoing activism against gentrification in San Francisco.

"An Evening of Video with Sleeping Giant Productions and Whispered Media" features slections from Showdown in Seattle and Breaking the Bank, the Independent Media Centers' unprecedented near-live coverage of the emergence of a new, global coalition against corporate globalization . It also includes examples of the live satellite coverage of the protests surrounding the Democratic Convention in Los Angeles, as well as "On 16th Street", which anticipates the wholesale attempts to gentrify the Mission District. Also included are segements from Whispered Media's upcoming feature "Economic Boom for Whom?", which focuses on the upsurge of activism in San Francisco against gentrification.

Proceeds from the show will benefit for Proposition L, which will empower San Franciscans to rein in the influence of global capital on our government and our neighborhoods.
